4DO 1.2.0.2 Released!

fourdo-admin April 19, 2012 4 Comments

A few elusive core bugs fixed!

Improvements:

  1. Daedalus Encounter freeze fix updated. Viktor did a lot of debugging, and eventually found and fixed a difficult core emulation bug that was causing the Scene 5 freeze! This also uncovered a fix to an issue in Pebble Beach Golf Links.
  2. Samurai Shodown graphical issues fixed. Samurai Shodown was previously riddled with odd graphical issues, but no more! The characters render correctly, and the backgrounds are no longer black.

Both of these involve changes that are not specific to the games they were targeting. So, other games might be affected, but I haven’t spotted any differences in the handful of games I tried.

Samurai Shodown looks so purty now!

    Thanks!

      It’s definitely quite purdy now.

And I will blasphemously pronounce that I find Samurai Shodown more fun than Street Fighter 2. Wooo!

It’s nice that we now have a promising 3DO emulator. 🙂
Just wanted to say that Sewer Shark doesn’t work with this new version (it was already stuttery in some parts on
    1.2.0.1, but hey…).
I tried with both FZ-1 and FZ-10 bios, but always get “Bad Slack Calc” error and for some reason Night Trap stopped
working with FZ-1 giving the same error message, but works
    fine with FZ-10.
I’m eagerly waiting for new version, keep up the good work
    guys.
Sorry if i made some grammar or spelling mistakes.

Thanks for reporting this! I was able to recreate this from your notes, and I think I have this fixed now! Next version should have this resolved.
