There are no functional changes in 220.127.116.11 beta. This release provides the introduction of the 4DO installer. If you find an issue, please provide feedback!
4DO will continue to provide an option for the Zip file distribution, since many people prefer that option. As you can see on the download page, each release will now provide two ways you to download and use 4DO:
- Using an installer – Such as 4DO_18.104.22.168_beta_Install.exe
- Using the zip file – Such as 4DO_22.214.171.124_beta.zip
If you try out the installer and find issues, please leave a comment!

P.S. 4DO_188.8.131.52_beta.zip not included slimdx.dll
Nice Find. It’s in the zip, but for some reason it is in a “Tools” Folder. It just need to get moved back a folder into the 4DO directory where it belongs.
Johnny, I think something got messed up in the build process…?
Oops, okay. I have fixed the SlimDX.dll problem and re-uploaded the 184.108.40.206 zip file.
Recorded a video about the filtering. Video recording was made using Kamtasiya studio. The emulator SSF (Sega Saturn). At the moment, this is the most demanding emulator and it works only with software processing the video output.
In general, look and compare.
PS It can be seen as I have included a filter and disable them.
The game need for speed, recorded 2 clips
Without the filter.
On the Filter
Notice how the filter improves the video
